The Governor said he would take a look at it to consider any unintended consequences before he signs it into law.

Well, let me suggest two:

First of all, the State legislature, by surrendering to the edict of the Supreme Court, has placed itself “under” the authority of the judicial branch of government. This sets a dangerous precedent, as it suggests that ultimately, the state is ruled by judges, and the purpose of the legislature is only to determine how to carry out the will of the judges.

This is absolutely and totally contrary to the letter and the spirit of the Constitution that created three co-equal branches of government, with the understood intent that the most influential branch would be the one which represents the voice of the people –the legislature.

Our founders never intended a rule by an oligarchy, which in effect, is what you have when old men in black robes call the shots. This is a dangerous new path we embark on that will ultimately lead to totalitarianism.

Secondly, by establishing a new institution called civil union, legislators are creating a new right, and in so doing, going well beyond their authority to secure those inalienable rights given to us by “nature and nature’s God.” John F. Kennedy, among others, reminded us that our rights are not given to us “…by the generosity of the state but by the hand of God.” It is not up to the states to create new rights. If they could point to this right to have a civil union anywhere in our Judeo-Christian tradition they would have a foundation upon which to stand. However because there is no such right given by God, they can not just create a new right out of thin air without dire consequences to the next generation.

Marriage is a holy and sacred institution given to us for the proper ordering of human civilization. It has already been devalued by no-fault divorce laws and radical individualism, a modern mindset that insists on the pursuit of selfish ambition over commitment to marriage and the natural family. The result has been an explosive population in our prison system and an epidemic of emotional and psychological disorder in children. We must not continue down this road of social devolution, but rather we must re-dedicate ourselves to those traditional institutions that have brought to this planet the greatest nation the world has ever known.

We encourage our neighbors in New Jersey to fight for the next generation. Tell Governor Corzine to refuse to sign a bill that will most assuredly continue to undermine marriage and family, the only solid foundation for a prosperous and peaceful society.

The next generation is counting on us.

Rev. A birth certificate certifies the sex of a human being at birth. Changing the record at a later time doesn’t change anything but someone’s delusions about their gender. For that matter, why not change the name one is born with, or the names of one’s parents? Why not? If one can change one record of history, why not another?

Unless sanity is restored, we’re headed for certain social chaos. If you think there are sexual identity problems now, just wait.

The New York Christian Coalition strongly encourages citizens of civil minds and common sense to insist that the New York City Board of Health abandons its illusions of grandeur and social experimentation for the benefit of our children who need stability and structure, not more insanity.

Rev. Our battle is for the soul of our nation. We must educate and motivate a complacent electorate to bring traditional American values back into government in 2008.

The New York Christian Coalition will re-organize, re-tool, and prepare to bring correction to the leftward lurch our nation has just made. In fact, make a few phone calls and encourage others to get out and vote. There is too much at stake in this mid-term election to sit home. It seems like every year I find myself saying the same thing: “This is the most important election of our lifetime.” But it really is! The results of this election will determine whether we will remain a nation with liberty under God, or we will turn toward becoming an atheistic socialist nation. For those who would prefer an atheistic socialist nation they should vote Democratic. For those who wish to preserve liberty under God they would vote Conservative or Republican. There never has been a more clear distinction between the parties. The nation we pass on to our posterity will be determined by the choices we make as an electorate. Wherever you stand on the issues, do your duty to your country as good stewards of this government that God has entrusted to us. Make phone calls and encourage others to vote. Be sure you get out and vote next Tuesday and take someone with you.
Our children, and theirs’ are counting on it. By ordering the state legislature to re-write the laws to make same-sex relationships equal to traditional marriage, they presume to have authority over the legislature, when in fact, they have none. If any branch of government is to have authority above the others, it is that branch which represents the people, namely, the state legislature.

If the New Jersey legislature submits to the demands of these judges it will surrender the authority of the people, in effect, replacing a government of the people with the rule of an oligarchy. For the sake of the coming generations this must not be allowed to happen.

Furthermore, re-writing the marriage laws to include same-sex couples would serve to negate the special place that traditional marriage holds in our society, further contributing to the familial chaos already epidemic in our society.

The New York Christian Coalition wants to encourage our neighbors in New Jersey to rise up against this judicial tyranny. Call your legislators and encourage them to ignore the ruling of the Supreme Court, thus asserting, once-and-for-all the authority of the state legislature and preserving the time-tested institution that has been proven, by every measure of social science, to provide the best environment for young children in which to grow and prosper.

Rev. They recognized that every man and woman is subject to a sinful carnal nature that must be restrained by a strong moral code as defined in the Scriptures. They understood that you could not separate God from government without leaving a void that evil will be only too quick to fill. No political party can claim the moral high ground for we are all sinners and subject to the same delusion that Mark Foley apparently came under.
These events also provide a portent of things to come if we, as a nation, continue to provide an attitude of acceptance for sexual behavior outside of the holy institution of marriage, universally defined as the union of a man and a woman. Congressman Foley’s perverted behavior was based in a homosexual lust that defied reason. His inability to adhere to traditional norms has proven to be destructive to his own well-being, and damaging to the well-being of others. Social acceptance of any sexual expression outside of traditional mores will only help to perpetuate this type of damage to the well-being of coming generations.
For this reason we must hold high the standard of traditional marriage and sexuality or we will see a growing trend toward social depravity and our children, and theirs will pay for our indifference.

Rev. The pastor-preachers, often the most educated and influential citizens in the community, instructed the congregation on the major issues of the day, and where the candidates running for political office stood on those issues. They would tell the people which of the candidates demonstrated virtuous Christian character. There were no IRS or FEC restrictions. Preachers weren’t afraid to preach politics. In fact, they understood it to be one of their primary responsibilities as part of preaching the whole Gospel. They regularly told their congregations who was worthy of their vote and who wasn’t.

It wasn’t until Lyndon B. Johnson decided he wanted “pay back” for some Texas clergy who spoke out against him because of his immoral character. In 1954 Johnson attached a rider to an obscure bill that had the affect of literally silencing the church for almost 50 years. Well, today there is a “Houses of Worship Free Speech Restoration Act” HR 235, introduced to liberate clergy from the muzzle imposed by Johnson’s vindictive actions. It will enable preachers, once again, to speak out on all vital and moral and political questions of the day without fear that the IRS will revoke their tax-exempt status.

There should be no reason why the clergy should be the only ones deprived of the right to free speech. In fact, it was the clergy, and their pulpits “ablaze with glory” that gave birth to this new nation, because they weren’t afraid to “get political” and speak out against injustice when they saw it. Oh, how things have changed!

Our pastors and our preachers must demonstrate the boldness to preach about the issues of the day to educate the Body of Christ concerning godly civic leadership. Jethro told Moses to choose men who fear God, and who hate dishonest gain to rule over Israel. In the same way, we must choose men and women who will lead this nation in such a way that we will remain “One nation Under God.”

Our pulpits must be “ablaze with glory” once again as preachers tackle some of the most challenging issues of our time. They must once again preach and teach about the sovereignty of God in the life of our nation. They must preach about the evils of:

Godlessness in our public schools

Atheistic Socialism

The radical homosexual agenda and sexual immorality

The increase of big government and higher taxes

Corruption in politics and public service

Addiction to gambling, pornography, drugs and alcoholism

…and so much more…

When was the last time we heard a sermon on any of these topics? We live in challenging times when preachers must get out of their comfort zones and begin to preach righteousness once again.

The “Black Robe Regiment,” as the clergy were known by King George before the War for Independence, must, once again, be a force to contend with, or we will continue to lose the favor of God, and our children will be forced to live under the curse of bondage, because we failed to proclaim the Lord in the land.

I recognize I may be ruffling some feathers, and perhaps, even lose a supporter or two, but I cannot remain silent when there is so much at stake. I recently found out I am going to be a grandfather next January. That news compels me even more to be sure I do all that I can to pass on to my grandchild the nation that my Father passed on to me.

I encourage all pastors to prayerfully consider preaching an “Election Sermon” for 2006. It’s still legal to preach about the issues. The only thing a pastor can’t do is to advocate the election or the defeat of a particular person or political party. I will be preaching in various places around the state before the elections, but I can’t be everywhere. The Black Robe Regiment must be “re-activated” if we are to see our children enjoy the same liberties our forbears passed on to us.

Charles Finney told us, “God will bless or curse this country according to the course Christians take in politics.” It begins with the leaders. Let’s lead!

Rev. Is this a far stretch? I don’t think so. First of all, the terms “liberal” and “Democrat” can now be used interchangeably. The term, “conservative Democrat” has become an oxymoron. There is no longer any such animal. No more “big tent”, unless of course, you’re talking about a big “liberal” tent. It is true, as first stated by Zel Miller, they are a “national party no more.”

The legal arm of the Democratic Party, the ACLU, is busy expunging every vestige of our Christian heritage from the public square --and now even from private property-- wherever they can get away with it. Democrats are power hungry and unwilling to share it with anyone, even God! (That’s for the few who believe there is a God).

It’s interesting to hear Democrat consultants interpret the results of this contest suggesting that it means that if a Democrat wants to be elected they’ll have to oppose the war in Iraq. In other words, a decision about what is the right thing to do for millions of people in Iraq and ultimately for our own liberty in America will be decided by what will gain them political power. It’s as I’ve always said about Democrats: To them, all politics is politics! Their standard for right and wrong is determined by what will get them into power.

They drool at the prospects of failure in Iraq, as it suggests for them the taste of political victory and power.

Ned Lamont ran on a Socialist platform promoting national health insurance, just like Hillary Clinton and so many other Democrats. You can probably substitute the word “Socialist” for “Democrat” as well.

Perhaps it’s time to rename the Party for what it is: “The Atheist Socialist Party.” That says it all. Unfortunately for America, if there was any question before, the Connecticut Primary has now made this perfectly clear.

Rev. We call on Americans everywhere to stand with us in unflinching support behind Israel, which has become the point of the spear in this war against Islamofacism.

Some have called it World War III. We agree. September 11, 2001 brought into the light what had been, until then, brewing in secret terrorist training camps all around the globe.

When we deposed Saddam Hussein, and went into Iraq we found that a brief and quickly won war against a tyrant dictator had quickly morphed into a fifty-year war against an ideology bent on the destruction of the West. The brotherhood of islamofacists are warring against liberty. They will never stop until they win, or they die trying.

The typical conventions of war do not apply to a people whose identity is caught up in the destruction of Israel. This is their reason for living, and for dying. They sincerely believe that killing, and even dying for “Allah” is a good and noble thing. This mindset places them beyond the limits of reasonable discourse. Any talk of peace or cease-fire is a strategic move on their part to rebuild and regain strength for the war that must be fought to the finish.

President Bush flushed out the terrorists into the open in Iraq. Now it’s all-out war. We must understand that this is like no other war we have ever fought. This is a war of ideologies. It will never be won until the next generation of future Jihadists is won over by the ideas of freedom and democracy. We are looking at no less than a fifty-year war to change the minds and hearts of millions of people. I question whether or not it can be done, but we must try, or succumb to tyranny.
It will be the children of the children of today’s Jihadists who may stand a chance to bring sanity to this sect of Islam.

We will never win this war with bullets alone. We must win the hearts of the next generation while we neutralize their fathers who would rather die warring against the west than talk peace with “The Great Satan.” If they choose to die than we must help them do so before they kill us. Then we must teach the principles of democracy, and the blessings of liberty, if there is to be any chance of real peace for coming generations.

There must be no talk of “proportionate response.” This is not a game where “You take my pawn, so I’ll take yours. “ No. This is war. The only acceptable proportionate response is the total neutralization of terrorist forces around the globe. Until then -and I am convinced it will be for no less than fifty years- we must continue to fight and support Israel with all that we have. The next generation of free people depends on no less.

Rev. Remove that absolute, and as Dostoyevsky told us,

“If there is no God then anything is permissible.”

Therefore our quest must be to find consensus concerning God’s design for marriage, family and society. To the degree that we align ourselves with His design we experience peace and prosperity; to the degree that we distance ourselves from that design we experience chaos.

This is the privilege and awesome responsibility of “We The people” to strive toward that “more perfect Union.” We will, no doubt, reap the rewards or the consequences of our collective actions.

Secondly, is the fact that this is not a civil rights issue.

To equate current laws with those that banned interracial marriages is a total misapplication of fact. Laws that banned interracial marriage were inconsistent with God’s Law that defines marriage as the union of a husband and a wife without regard to race, religion or ethnicity, yet with a very clear distinction between a man and a woman. This is the nature, the essence, of marriage.

A circle with four corners is no longer a circle; a marriage between people of the same sex is not, in essence, a marriage. A Judge does not have the right to change the English language.

You don’t give a dog license to a cat, not because you’re bigoted against cats, but because the two are different animals. So it is with marriage and homosexual relationships. They are different animals.

Most Americans understand this distinction, and understand the ungodliness and injustice of banning interracial marriage. So when the courts ruled such laws to be unconstitutional the American public accepted it as one more step toward that perfect union.

On the other hand, the Roe v. Wade decision was not seen as a step advancing us in that direction, and so a significant segment of America did not accept that decision as evidenced by the ongoing Right-To-Life movement that will not quit until that issue is made right.

The Roe v. Wade decision is a better comparison, because a large segment of America will never accept anything to be legally right that we believe God has declared to be morally wrong.

Homosexuals are no more a minority class than drug addicts are. We must respect them, love them, care for them, want the very best for them, but never through our public policy should we enable them to continue in an unhealthy and abnormal lifestyle.

To equate this with the civil rights movement is an affront to true minorities. I am of Puerto Rican descent. I can never be an ex-Puerto Rican. Neither can an African American be an ex-African American. Yet there are thousands of ex-homosexuals who are living happy productive lives in natural family relationships.

Civil rights movements are always characterized by the defense of an oppressed minority, a class that demonstrates disadvantage in three areas: economically, politically and socially.
In every area the homosexual community enjoys not only equality, but also superiority. They earn more, they have greater political clout, and they are the only protected social class.

They simply are not an oppressed minority, and it is an offense to legitimate minorities to place a group characterized by deviant behavior in the same class.

The New York Court of Appeals was correct in prohibiting a judge from changing the definition of words unilaterally, and placing the responsibility for writing the law on the State Legislature, the body that represents, We The People.”

Until we can find agreement on these two fundamental points further debate will only lead us in circles.

Rev. Soledad in San Diego is representative of the larger war being waged across our nation from coast to coast.

Forces are leading a revolution intent on changing the basic nature of our country, which has always been in its systems and institutions, “One Nation Under God.”

These forces headed up by the ACLU are on a mission to change the very nature of our country, and if it means lying about our history and twisting the Constitution to mean something different than what our founders intended, so be it. After all, in their view “modern man” is much more enlightened than our less evolved founding fathers, and, of course, the Constitution must also evolve with humanistic, progressive enlightenment.

The cross on Mt. Soledad stands as a symbol of sovereignty over America. In the same way we all remember the pictures of Saddam Hussein’s statue being toppled in Baghdad, so the Atheistic Humanists see toppling the cross as their symbol of victory.

This next decade will determine whether we will continue to be One Nation Under God -a nation that looks to the God of the Bible as the source of our “inalienable” rights, or whether we will become a nation that has ejected God from our public life, and has placed human wisdom on the throne of sovereignty over our nation.
It can go either way, because we are, after all, a government “of the people.” If the people choose Humanism through their collective expression, we will no longer be that “One Nation Under God,” and we will be left to the consequences of our own devices.

The only people who will have the wisdom and power to preserve the foundations of our society are the people of faith who will leave their comfortable church pews to engage the enemy at the voting booth, and anywhere else he launches an attack on our Judeo-Christian heritage.

This is a rallying call to people of faith. There can be no slackers. We must all rise to the occasion. Church leaders must seek the heart and mind of Christ to discern His will for such a time as this. We must get out of our narrow focus that is pre-occupied with “our church,” “our denomination” or “our ministry,” and we must see the fields that are white for harvest in our communities, in our states and in our nation. We must not be “complacent in Zion.” We must bring the light of the Gospel into the political and public arena, or we will surely lose this nation, and God will hold us accountable for our failure to “possess the gates of our enemy.”

It is my earnest prayer that the U.S. Supreme Court will take up this case to once-and-for-all clearly state what our founders intended when they gave us the First Amendment and the idea of "separation of church and state." This is an opportunity to stop the advance of Atheistic socialism -- for now.

Mt. Soledad is about more than Mt. Soledad; it’s about the heart and soul of a nation, the nation that God has entrusted to our stewardship. How will we answer when he calls us to give account?

Rev. There are forces in America that purport to be on the side of America and our Constitution, but in truth, they are on the side of a revolutionary movement seeking to change America in such a way that it would be hardly recognizable to our forefathers. They call it “progress.”They call it progress to throw off any public expression of dependency on the God of the Bible. They believe we have “evolved” to such a point that we no longer need “religion.” In their thinking, a superstition for “the poor, uneducated and easy to lead.”

Truth be told, this is nothing less than arrogant Atheism.

Once God is expelled from the halls of government, men and women will establish their own standard of right and wrong. They will, in effect, be their own gods. (Do you remember what happened to Lucipher when he tried to usurp God’s authority?) President Eisenhower told us, and President Ford repeated it,

“Without God there can be no American form of government or an American way of life.”

It’s clear then that the enemies of the state want another form of government and another way of life –that’s treason, not progress.

Though I have yet to read Ann Coulter’s new book, she seems to have hit the nail on the head with its title, “Godless –the religion of liberalism” If her title accurately describes what’s between the covers she has it exactly right. There’s no such thing as no religion. Everybody believes in something, and that which one believes to be the greatest force or authority in life is the object of one’s religion. Who are the card-carrying members of this new religion (New in America, but as old as mankind)?

The New York Times

The mainstream media

The National Education Association

Labor Unions

Gay Rights proponents

Abortion proponents

Illegal Immigration Advocates

Radical Environmentalist Groups

The National Council of Churches

Hollywood

Academia

Trial Lawyers

…And more…

What do all these groups have in common? A hatred for George W. Bush. In fact it’s an irrational detestation they have for him. What they don’t realize is that their hatred is not for the man, but for the One who dwells inside him, the Holy Spirit.

Now please understand, I have my issues with George Bush, myself, especially when it comes to illegal immigration and globalism. Nevertheless, he claims to be a born again believer, and therefore the Holy Spirit is dwelling in him. That’s why the godless react irrationally at the very sight of him, or even the sound of his voice. They really don’t even know why they hate him so much. Ask any one of them, and they’ll give you reasons like, “I just don’t like the way he smirks.” Now tell me, is that an intelligent way to judge a world leader, by the way he smirks? Yet that’s the kind of response you’ll get from the majority of liberals who simply hate Bush. It’s not Bush they hate, but the God living inside him that they hate whether they realize it or not. These are the real enemies of the state.

They present a real threat as long as those who know better remain complacent. Listen to what Abraham Lincoln said about our day,

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

This is precisely what will happen unless we stand up and fight for our faith, our marriages and families and for our freedoms. There is no Islamofacist living who can damage America more than the complacency of spoiled Americans who take their liberty for granted. It’s time to call the enemy for what he is, and engage him fully in every deliberate and civil way possible, until this nation is back on course to a future of peace and prosperity, and a beacon of light and liberty once again, to a lost and dying world.

Rev. They want another United States of America, one that doesn’t exist but in the fantasies of their minds. The country of their affections is one in which:

God is not a part

Christians are not taken seriously

Popular opinion is the acceptable standard of morality

The Government’s job is to provide for the needs of the people

The wealth of the rich is to be redistributed to others

Homosexuality and pornography are to be accepted as normal and healthy

Citizens are not one nation under God (melting pot) but rather many nations (salad bowl) under many gods, or no god at all, different sub-cultures competing for a bigger slice of the American pie.

These characteristics do not describe the historical nature of our country, which has always found its stability in the sovereignty of God, and in His laws as we have come to understand them.

There is a socialist revolution afoot intent on replacing the America we know with one we don’t know. These revolutionaries are not patriots, but rather subversives, and they must be identified as such. Most Republicans I hear demonstrate an ignorant naiveté when they presume that these liberal revolutionaries are dealing in “good faith” because they too are patriotic Americans. Hogwash! They are subversives who will lie, cheat, steal and do whatever they must for the cause of their atheistic socialist revolution. Republicans will lose elections, and America will lose its liberty, because of the ignorance and spinelessness on the part of Republicans.

This is nothing less than political warfare. Traditionalists must rise up to fight to preserve our nation and its systems and institutions against atheistic socialists who see their revolution as social progress. My heart yearns to hear a national leader proclaim, “No more Mr. Nice Guy. From now on we will fight to preserve this “One Nation Under God.”

Then perhaps our children may have the opportunity to defend it again in their time against this persistent enemy. When I was sworn into the Air Force many years ago I swore to protect our nation against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The truth is we still have enemies both foreign and domestic. It’s time we identified the enemy and questioned patriotism.

Rev. These two issues must take priority over the welfare of non-citizen criminals and the interests of American business. We strongly reject any legislation that will provide for the forgiveness of criminal behavior i.e., crossing our borders illegally. This would create a special class to whom current law will not apply, thus violating the constitutional principle of equal protection under the law. This rule of law must not be compromised by situational ethics. We have never been ruled by a system of fluid laws that change with every changing wind of circumstance; it must not be so now.

Furthermore, to teach the lesson that it’s acceptable to break the law and expect the law to be changed to accommodate the lawbreaker sets an unhealthy precedent that will shape the mindsets of 11 million illegal aliens who will then become Americans. Why should we expect them to be law-abiding citizens when their Americanism is a product of law breaking. There will be a higher percentage of lawbreakers in this group that is birthed out of law breaking. Wisdom forewarns us that this is a sure way to increase the crime rate in America. This is not a matter of racial discrimination; it’s a matter of logic.

“Where will we find workers to take these jobs that Americans won’t do?” This too is an argument based in situational ethics rather than the principled rule of law. We have federal minimum wage laws because we believe that business should not exploit people. To say that it’s OK to pay Mexicans a lesser amount is to declare them less than human deserving the same minimum wage given to other people. Again, this represents a violation of the idea of equal protection under the law. If our laws are to protect people they should apply to all people equally. Let market forces find their balance while maintaining the integrity of our system based on principles, not situations. Businesses that hire illegal aliens and pay them less than minimum wage are aiding and abetting criminals while engaging in criminal activity themselves by paying less than the federal minimum wage. These employers must also be subject to “equal protection under the law.”

These are just a few of the most pressing issues that must be considered by legislators considering reforming our immigration laws. We must not perpetuate a system that is undermining our core principles and the rule of law. We must protect American citizens first, and preserve the rule of law second.

We will support only that legislation that reflects these values, and we will keep a record of those legislators who vote according to principles, rather than politics or situational ethics.

Rev. It doesn’t make sense on its’ face. Though some have called for further investigation, and questioning of this government-owned company, we believe it doesn’t matter how squeaky clean the company may appear, it still presents an unacceptable potential threat to our security. Yes, there are several questions to consider: Why would the U.A.E. want to purchase a British company that was responsible for our port security? What will Al qaeda do when they hear the U.A.E. will be in charge of our port security? Isn’t it only logical and consistent with their character that they will find a way to infiltrate such an operation and use their access to harm us? Doesn’t it also make sense that one cannot logically expect individuals from another country to place our security above their own interests?

Our security must be provided exclusively by Americans. (A Further discussion of each of these points can be found on our web site: www.nychristiancoalition.org.)

1. Reaffirm the primacy of God in our public life and institutions.

    a. Reaffirm our National Motto, “In God We Trust” as a matter of fact

(Public acknowledgment of God and a corporate endeavor to discern and obey his will and pattern for living is fundamental to civil order, peace and prosperity.)

   b. Teach our children the role that God, and faith have played, and continue to play in the public life of our nation.

2. End Abortion

   a. Pray for the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

   b. Promote Parental Notification

   c. Ban Partial Birth Abortion

  d. Re-establish the sanctity of Human Life at both ends of human life by outlawing cloning, embryonic stem cell research, and assisted suicide.

3. Preserve and Protect the Family

     a. Protect Marriage – Reaffirm marriage as being the union of a male and a female, by whatever constitutional means necessary.

    b. Provide financial relief via voucher systems or tax credits for children to attend the best schools as determined by their parents.

   c. Restore public education to soundness, establishing the priorities of the children’s well-being over the interests of teachers’ unions.

   d. Reaffirm and enforce pornography and obscenity laws.

4. Preserve and Protect The Church

   a. Reaffirm the special place the Church holds in society

   b. Defend against anti-church, anti-religious bigotry and abusive utilization of zoning authority.

   c. Insist on righteousness in Government by re-establishing Biblical standards of morality as the basis for law.

   d. Insist that judges are appointed who interpret the Constitution in a manner that is consistent with the intent of the framers

5. Exercise Christian Ethics in our Economy

   a. Work toward the reduction of and/or elimination of taxes to reduce the power of the Federal Government and diffuse it among state and local governments, and individual citizens.

   b. End legalized gambling

6. Unify American Citizens –

   a. Work toward a color-blind society with equal opportunity for all regardless of race, religion, or national origin.

   b. Identify the general characteristics of Americanism –“One Nation Under God.”

   c. Help immigrants learn English as quickly as possible so that they too can compete and share in the “American dream.”

7. National Security

   a. Secure our borders –enforce the immigration laws and punish violators.

   b. Support our Commander-In-Chief in the War against Terrorism while being vigilant over our civil liberties.

c. Support the spread of freedom and democracy.

d. Identify and stop the encroachment of statism, totalitarianism, communism or socialism whether from foreign or domestic origin.

These are just some of the guiding principles that will direct our political, legislative and spiritual efforts in 2006. We desire to “serve” as a resource for the Church and the nation, to help educate and motivate Christians for effective citizen participation in this government “of the people.”

Rev. It’s the age-old struggle between good and evil, between God and Satan. Though many fail to see the driving forces behind the ACLU, Americans for Separation of Church and State, and others on a mission to expunge God and the Bible from the public square, the reality is that godless forces are seeking to establish a new religion of secularism in America. Justice William O’Douglas told us in 1952 that “The First Amendment does not say there should be a separation of Church and state, otherwise the state and religion would be hostile, suspicious and even unfriendly...The state may not establish the religion of secularism…” Even this liberal justice could see the real war. Yes, we must win this battle for Christmas, but only as we fight to win the war on Christianity.

Rev. Just imagine if George Bush were caught in the same despicable acts of behavior Bill Clinton was. There would be no mercy!

If the war in Iraq is not a success it will not be because of our military or the present administration; it will be because of the leftist movement working to undermine the war effort in order to seize political power. It must be said, they care more about seizing power than they do about our men and women in combat. That’s made evident by their willingness to challenge the present administration openly and publicly with the affect of “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.” If they were sincere about objections to the war and support for our troops they would be working diligently behind closed doors to effect change. But that won’t help them undermine the President, so they attack him publicly. They are obsessed with the drive for power and measure the value of all things only as they serve the purpose of toppling Bush.

It’s clear they want a new America, no longer “one nation under God” but a multi-cultural nation under man, where our basic values are replaced by progressive, pagan and hedonistic values.

If they succeed America will join the other once great nations of the world that have abandoned order and righteousness. Our grandchildren will know liberty only through the distorted lenses of revisionist history books.

Abraham Lincoln reminded us that only that nation is blessed whose God is the Lord. For Ramsay Clark and the American left that’s one God too many for them. They will be gods, and the American people better like it.

It’s time we identified the real enemy, and understood that we can no longer deal with the radical left in good faith. We do not have the same love for country. We love the country that is; they love the country they imagine they can have.

Who will win? I don’t know. Edmund Burke taught us that all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. I guess we’ll see.

Rev. This should be a no-brainer

ARTICLE VI OF THE CONSTITUTION STATES CLEARLY THAT THERE IS TO BE NO RELIGIOUS TEST TO HOLD OFFICE.
So when liberals like Chucky Schumer hammered people like Bill Pryor and Charles Pickering for their “deeply held religious beliefs” he was acting in direct violation of the Constitution. The reason we’re debating this issue is because liberals want to apply a religious test that says “If you’re a real Christian who really believes the Bible, then we don’t want you in office because we don’t like what you might think about abortion and gay rights.” That’s what the whole argument is about, and that religious test is expressly prohibited by the Constitution.

SECONDLY, THERE IS NO PROHIBITION OF CONSIDERING ONE’S FAITH WHEN SELECTING A SUPREME COURT JUSTICE.
The President has every right to select whoever he wants, and in selecting one who holds a similar faith and worldview to his own he is more assured that they will see the Constitution as he sees it. Generally speaking, people of traditional Judeo-Christian faith make better public servants than pagans or atheists because…

OUR INSTITUTIONS HAVE BEEN FASHIONED BY AND MAINTAIN THEIR INTEGRITY BY OUR JUDEO-CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW.
That’s why in the Supreme Court building there are no less than twenty depictions of Moses and the Ten Commandments including the one right over the Chief Justices chair to remind him that even the Chief Justice is under a higher law and his judgments must conform to the judgments of the Supreme Judge of the Universe. (Such was the teachings of James Wilson, signer of both the Declaration and the Constitution, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Father of American Law Schools)

That’s why the court clerk cries out in the beginning of session “God save the U.S. and this honorable court.”

That’s why witnesses before the court swear on the Bible to tell the truth.

That’s why the court is closed on Sundays, the Christian Sabbath, the Lord’s Day.

Our faith is not in human wisdom, but in the superintending providence of God that watches over our leaders and our institutions and favors us with the blessings of liberty and justice.

John Adams taught us that there is no constitution that can control the vices of men without the laws of God written upon their hearts….”Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people; it is wholly inadequate to the governing of any other,” he said.

More recently, President Gerald Ford told us that without God there could be no American form of government nor an American way of life.

Our system of justice and law is rooted in the idea that our rights are not given to us by the generosity if the state but by the hand of God, as JFK reminded us. That’s why the Declaration calls them “inalienable,” because only God can take those rights away, and last I looked he wasn’t dressed in black robes.

It is the job of government to secure those rights given by God. If government grants rights then those rights are no longer inalienable, because what the government can give it can also take away.

If you take God out of the equation you remove the stability and consistency that has preserved our democratic republic for over 200 years, a feat unheard of in world history. It works because we’re not subject to the whims of popular opinion; we are ruled by eternal principles derived from the Book we swear on.

That’s why James Madison, the chief architect of the Constitution said that we have staked the future of American civilization not on the power of government, but on the power of each of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.

That’s why our motto is “in God we trust” not in the wisdom of humanity we trust.

So in short there are two points to remember:

There must be no religious test – That’s expressly prohibited by the Constitution.
The President is free to, and would be wise to select people of faith as Supreme Court Justices because people of faith make better judges, because they understand and accept the principles of justice and mercy upon which our systems and institutions were established and upon which they find their permanency and success.

NOTE: IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEPARATE FAITH FROM GOVERNMENT
Faith is the very atmosphere in which we operate. We do not operate in a vacuum.

Every government instituted among men is rooted in a religious worldview, whether it be theistic like western Christianity, or Atheistic like the former Soviet Union

The question is “Which faith will we operate in, faith in God and His Word as well as we can understand it, or faith in humanity alone which was recognized by the Supreme Court as the religion of Secular Humanism (Torcaso v. Watkins)?

Rev. We live to give, not to take. Jesus taught us and we’ve found it to be true, “It is better to give than to receive.” We don’t live by the law of the jungle.

So what we do, we do whether FEMA would reimburse us or not, because we know we’ve already received the greatest gift of all in the gift of God’s Son, Jesus Christ which grants us citizenship in the City of God.

But we are also citizens of the city of man, and when we look from the perspective of Government and Public policy, there should be no discrimination, particularly against the organizations that do the best job in helping those in need.

Any attempt to separate religious groups from secular non-profit groups performing the same mission reflects not a preference or even neutrality toward religion, but rather hostility toward religion.

That’s why at the forefront of this move you find groups like the American Atheists, and Americans for Separation of Church and State and the ACLU (The anti-Christian liberties Union).

These groups are fundamentally un-American at their core; their primary agenda is to bring a revolution so that we would be no longer one nation under God, but rather many nations under man. This is Secular Humanism, a religion that sets man as the highest authority, and is more consistent with communism and fascism, than it is with Americanism. Remember, our national motto is “In God We Trust”

It was President Eisenhower who said, and it was later repeated by President Ford,

“Without God there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life. Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first –the most basic- expression of Americanism”

So I guess the conclusion of the matter should be that the Government should not discriminate against the Church in considering reimbursements, and the Church will always have the freedom to accept or not to accept Government reimbursements knowing that we are accountable not to the Federal Government, but to the Supreme Judge of the Universe for its faithful stewardship.

Rev. They are softening on their positions in defense of the unborn and in the preservation of traditional marriage. These are two issues that are non-negotiable for Christians and for Americans who believe in preserving the values that made this nation what it is today.

If the best the Republicans have to offer is the likes of William Weld and Jeanine Pirro, we will encourage our members to stay home on Election Day or vote for third party candidates, rather than being complicit in the continuing murder of over 1 million innocent babies every year.

If it means a win for the Democrats, then let it be. Maybe we need to end up in the pigpen before we will come to our senses to vote for righteous leaders who will rule in the fear of The Lord. If this be the case, the sooner the better.

Last election everyone was surprised because it was the “values voters” that came to the poles in record numbers to give the Republicans victories throughout the nation. Well, since then the “values voters” have become even more informed and engaged, and we will once again make the difference in the next election, but this time it may very well be by staying home on Election Day, or voting for third party candidates. We cannot, in good conscience, vote for people who will continue the slaughter of unborn babies. That’s where we must draw the line; that’s the litmus test.

Coming in a close second place is the issue of preserving traditional marriage. Though this issue is not as urgent as the abortion issue, it is nevertheless just as important to the preservation of a nation of peace and order for future generations.

The Democrats may very well have their “day in the sun,” if the Republicans run social liberals. The Republicans will lose; America will lose. We will find ourselves in the pigpen crying out for help. Let’s only hope that our God will hear us.

Rev. Houston

While we were hearing about looting, shooting, raping and people being treated like animals in New Orleans, we also heard about order, help, caring and people being treated with dignity in Houston. What made the difference? The power of Christian culture. You see, New Orleans prides itself in maintaining a general atmosphere of paganism and debauchery, even celebrating what they call “A Day of Decadence.” Houston, on the other hand, is home to some of the largest Churches in the United States. The general atmosphere is one of caring for your neighbor as yourself. We’re even hearing that many evacuees will not go back to New Orleans, because of what they’ve found in Houston or in other parts of Texas that likewise have a greater Christian presence. This serves as an example of the choices we face as a nation. Do we really want God out of our public life, and end up like pre-Katrina New Orleans, or do we want a strong Christian presence where we care about others. Do we want a nation where the law of the jungle rules, “survival of the fittest” or do we want a nation where the Spirit of Christ –the spirit of compassion- is expressed in our public as well as our private lives. The choice, as always, is ours. The consequences will be visited on our children, and coming generations. The tragedy called Katrina allowed us to see the spirit of a city. Let’s reject that spirit, and pray that New Orleans -and our nation- is born again in more ways than one.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nychristiancoalition.blogspot.com/2005/09/study-in-contrast-new-orleans-v.html' title='STUDY IN CONTRAST: New Orleans v. No.
Is it solely because of 9/11? No.
Is it solely because Sadam Hussein violated 17 U.N. resolutions? No.
Is it solely because Sadam presented a threat to the United States? No.
Is it solely to bring freedom to a people living under oppression? No.
Is it solely to bring democracy to the Middle East? No.

Neither one of the issues listed above was the reason for us going into Iraq, but taken all together, it became clear that unless we were courageous enough to defeat this tyrant now, the consequences of waiting would only grow worse for the free world.

The American spirit is best described in a speech John F. Kennedy never got a chance to deliver, because of an assassin’s bullet. Nevertheless, his speech concluded with these words:

“We in this country, in this generation, are-by destiny rather than choice-the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of peace on earth, goodwill toward men. That must always be our goal....For as was written long ago, ‘Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.’ (By the way, that was a Bible verse he quoted to which no one yelled ‘separation of church and State.’)”

“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”

This is the American spirit. No other nation in all of world history has had so much prosperity and power, and has used it for the good of humankind. This is not to say we haven’t our share of corporate greed, and politicians who are motivated by selfish interests, but these have been the exception rather than the rule. In spite of our shortcomings, our Biblical worldview has always demanded that we consider the plight of others even above our own interests.

Ask any good American soldier who has served in Iraq if we are fulfilling any good purpose. See what they say.

Those who want us out of Iraq want a different America, one that is based in self-interest rather than love for fellow human beings. A secular mindset rooted in the ideas of evolution has no sense of obligation toward others, but is rather consumed with the idea of self-preservation. In that consumption it will consume itself.

For, as our founders believed, God still governs in the affairs of men, and He still shows favor to those nations that acknowledge Him, and have compassion for the poor and the oppressed.

Does this mean that we must liberate every oppressed nation in the world? Of course not. But when all the factors mentioned at the beginning of this article combined, are energized by a sense of “calling” we must respond to the call. To this end we must rely on godly leadership, and a President who knows he must answer to a power higher than the American electorate.

So it is that we are in Iraq, because of a sense of calling to defend the cause of the United States, and to bring freedom to an oppressed people. It is not any one of the reasons listed above, but in fact, it is all of those reasons, and a sense of the will of God that sends us to Iraq to sacrifice for others, also created in the image of God, to whom we owe a debt of love.

God has been good to us. He has shown us favor. His grace truly has been, “shed on thee.” Let us never take it for granted, but always seek to be that “nation under God” that fully accepts our charge to be “the watchmen on the walls of world freedom,” so that we may continue to enjoy, and even spread the gifts of peace, prosperity and liberty to a world so much in need.

Rev. He said that the President "doesn't understand that one is a religious viewpoint and one is a scientific viewpoint."

These comments aren’t just irresponsible but rather reflect gross ignorance. Intelligent Design has nothing to do with religion; it makes no attempt to identify the source of intelligence, but simply states that some type of supreme intelligence was needed to create our natural universe. Intelligent Design says that’s where the evidence points. The identity of that intelligence is left to religion in the absence of further evidence.

Barry Lynn, and his ilk count on the gullibility of the public, and the strategy of William James who said there is no lie so absurd that repeated often enough would not be believed.

They’ve said it so often that some people actually believe evolution is science, but ask them why, and you’ll see a blank stare followed by “Everybody knows it is.”

Those who claim that Intelligent Design is not science discount
The fact that over 600 members of the Creation Research Society who hold post-graduate degrees say it is science. In their book people like Isaac Newton, Luis Pasteur and countless others were not scientists because they believed in intelligent design.

Truth be told, it takes more faith to believe in random selection than it does to believe in intelligent design.

Random selection says if I throw nuts and bolts together long enough I’ll eventually come out with a space shuttle! That takes faith -or rather- foolishness!

Whatever happened to academic freedom and critical inquiry?
We’re saying put your best argument out there. Show us your evidence, and let the student decide.

This is the Scopes trial in reverse. In 1925 the objection was the dogmatic teaching of Creation; today, it’s the dogmatic teaching of evolution.

Narrow-minded religious zealots of evolution want no competition in the marketplace of ideas, because they know evolution is the cornerstone of godless Secular Humanism, the religion that elevates man to the place of God, and gives license to ignore God’s moral laws. Sir Julian Huxley, one of their leading advocates told us they “accepted evolution without evidence because the idea of God would interfere with our sexual mores.”
At least he was honest!

We’re not trying to bring the Bible into the classroom, or trying to exclude evolution; we’re simply asking schools to be neutral between theories of origin, and to allow academic freedom of choice for the students.

Evolutionists are the ones advancing the religion of Secular Humanism. They are all Atheists, or at least people who live their lives as though there was no God.

We owe it to our young people to present them with all the information on such an important issue that will determine how they see all of life, and trust them to make an intelligent decision.

It’s time we stop trying to brainwash them –or rather brain pollute them- with the lie of evolution which is nothing more than a deluge of data, strung together by imagined inference.

I trust the intelligence of our young people; teach them both, and let them decide.

Rev. Wade

I was recently asked by a TV News program for a statement on our position on Roe v. wade. I thought it appropriate to publish it via our blog. Please let me know what you think and add your own thoughts.

Every day that Roe v. Wade remains the law of the land we experience another World Trade center tragedy, as each day 3,500 innocent civilian babies are murdered by terrorists in surgical masks. The only difference between these and the events of 9/11 is that we all saw the horror of the World Trade Center on TV, while abortions are shrouded in the secrecy of surgical suites. Televise abortions and see how long Americans will put up with legal murder. They would be outraged, as well they should be. Roe v. Wade was based on bad law and a political agenda. It must be overturned for the sake of babies yet unborn, and for the sake of the first of all Constitutional rights -the right to life.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nychristiancoalition.blogspot.com/2005/07/on-roe-v-wade.html' title='On Roe v. V. Wade. This is liberalism gone amuck!

Why are they going spastic? Well, perhaps the comments that Kennedy made reveal their true driving motives. He said they can’t afford to have someone who will work against the progress they’ve made in the last 40 years with women’s rights, the environment, etc.

In other words, they are afraid someone will slow the “progress” of their liberal revolution, the march of pagan transnational progressivism which is changing the very nature of our society. They know Roe v. Wade was not based on good law, but rather on liberal politics. They are deathly afraid someone will actually interpret the Constitution for what it really means. They prefer someone who would see it as a liquid document that will flow with their ideas toward godlessness and hedonism.

Kennedy’s concern is that they may not be able to have the new America they want. In this sense, he and others who sing the same mantra have become enemies of the state, the state that proclaims “In God We Trust” The very idea that we are “one nation under God’ is anathema to their cause, yet it is the very underpinning of America’s peace and prosperity. It is who we have always been. President Gerald Ford repeated what President Eisenhower said when he said,

“Without God there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life. Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first –the most basic- expression of Americanism.”

Once they eliminate God and the Bible from the public square they will advance their own laws based on the gods of Secular Humanism. Make no mistake; that is the issue.

The truth is that we cannot assume these people are acting in good faith; they are driven by an agenda, and they will do whatever it takes to see that agenda advanced and their revolution succeed.

People of faith must be engaged in this “government of the people.” We must be informed voters; we must communicate with our representatives continually, and we must seek God’s will about running for office ourselves. If we have righteous people in office we won’t have to worry about unrighteous law. It’s up to us. The godless do what is natural for them. The people of God must do what should be natural for us. We must lead, or the enemies of the state will succeed in their godless revolution.

Rev. Our trust must not be in man, but in the sovereignty and mercies of a God whose Spirit will not always strive with us. At any moment He may leave us to the consequences of our own sin, and our children and succeeding generations will ask, "Why was the Church silent?" I urge Christian leaders to fulfill their responsibilities to lead, to forego their own comfort, convenience and self-centered agendas to lead their people in fervent prayer for revival in our nation, and for wisdom for our leaders.

1 Timothy 2:1-3 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior,

Judge Robert Bork summarized in the Wall Street Journal why there is nothing on the president's domestic agenda more important than nominating a well-anchored conservative who won't grow mushy over time. Here is how Bork described the damage the Court has done to our values:

"The justices have weakened the authority of other institutions, public and private, such as schools, businesses, and churches; assisted in sapping the vitality of religion through a transparently false interpretation of the establishment clause; denigrated marriage and family; destroyed taboos about vile language in public; protected as free speech the basest pornography, including computer-simulated child pornography; weakened political parties and permitted prior restraints on political speech, violating the core of the First Amendment's guarantee of freedom of speech; created a right to abortion virtually on demand, invalidating the laws of all 50 states; whittled down capital punishment, on the path, apparently, to abolishing it entirely; mounted a campaign to normalize homosexuality, culminating soon, it seems obvious, in a right to homosexual marriage; permitted racial and gender discrimination at the expense of white males; and made the criminal justice system needlessly slow and complex, tipping the balance in favor of criminals. Justice O'Connor, a warm, down-to-earth, and very likeable person, joined many, though not all, of these bold attempts to remake America. Whatever one may think of these outcomes as matters of policy, not one is authorized by the Constitution and some are directly contrary to it. In the early 60’s the U.S. Supreme Court began the process of ejecting God from American public life. Today, it took a major step in accelerating that process. In McCreary v. the ACLU of Kentucky five liberal justices, without precedent or principle, advanced their political agenda by simply declaring that a display of the Ten Commandments is unconstitutional because it advances the cause of religion. Yet in the decision in Van Orden v. Perry in Texas the same Ten Commandments may be displayed because it is a “passive” display –how ludicrous! Since when is the constitutionality of a law determined by the anticipated effect it would have on others! Let’s be real. The Ten Commandments are publicly displayed all over the country because they represent the ideas that form the basis of our legal system –ideas like don’t murder, don’t steal, don’t bear false witness, even ideas like honor your parents, and worshiping God. These are the ideas upon which our liberty has stood for 229 years. Truth must be restored --the truth that our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people; it is wholly inadequate for the governing of any other[1]. We must have justices who will interpret the Constitution according to the original intent of the founders, and not according to the whims of the times. Jews, Christians and even Muslims must pray that President Bush will appoint men to the Supreme Court who will rule according to Biblical principles, or we will be as President Reagan warned, “a nation gone under.”

[1] John Quincy Adams

Rev. His continual characterization of the war as a “quagmire” and his accusations of incompetence directed at the Secretary of Defense are so beyond the pale that it would only make sense if he were on the Al Quaida payroll.

It is time we acknowledge that there are legislators who are deliberately attempting to undermine our efforts against terrorism to advance their own political agendas. To these legislators all politics is “politics” even when it involves the lives of our young men and women overseas.

Every intelligent team of parents knows how important it is to present a united front to effectively raise children. If you demonstrate division the children tend to take advantage of it for their own purposes. How much more does that principle apply when you’re talking about defending a nation?

This does not mean we cannot question policies. We, in fact, have a responsibility to do so when there is a valid concern. But you do it behind closed doors, not in a public arena where the world press magnifies such criticism and uses it against our own troops.

Either these legislators are totally ignorant or totally devious. In either case they must be held accountable for their misdeeds. This behavior must not be condoned if we are to remain the great nation we have become. Senator Kennedy should resign immediately.

Rev. The responses that filled my e-mail in-box, and telephone answering machine were most revealing. It’s been said that when the tube is squeezed you get to see what was inside. Well, the pro-gay blogger squeezed the tube and we’re seeing what is in the hearts and minds of those who claim to be proponents of “tolerance.”

Aside from every expletive imaginable, the general message is that we should be murdered because we are evil and we’re going to hell for our sin.

This type of response is typical when the merits of an issue cannot be challenged. A “strawman” is established by claiming the person said something he never said, then attacking him for that which was never said. When you can’t challenge the message simply try to discredit the messenger.

The hatred and venom contained in these responses reveals what’s truly in the heart of those who claim to be “loving.” Their responses are black and white illustrations of bigotry and hatred accusing us of bigotry and hatred. How interesting! Truth must be consistent with itself to be truth. This is beyond irony.

Let’s set the record straight. We never said or even suggested that gays should be labeled.
For what purpose? It makes no sense. (If gays were really proud of what they are, why would they have a problem with labels anyway? I would gladly wear a label as a Christian. But that’s beside the point.) We never said it, nor would we ever say it. What we said was that cigarette packs are labeled because smoking is hazardous to your health. That’s simply a statement of fact. We then drew a contrast to the way we deal with homosexual behavior by celebrating it, when all the studies show, and common sense and observation verify that promiscuous homosexual behavior is much more dangerous than smoking.

We were specifically talking about warning against behaviors that are hazardous to one’s health. This is something the gay community does on a regular basis, but if a member of the Christian community says the same thing he’s an evil bigot deserving of hell.

The question begs to be asked seriously, “Where really is the bigotry and hate?”

To see the original press release we published click here.

To See the actual responses we received click here

Back To Home.

Rev.
